Ruth B. Jackson
Separation and divorce are some of the most important times in an individual’s life, involving many difficult decisions. Ruth Jackson believes in engaging clients fully in the decision-making process, educating and informing them so they can make sound choices about their futures, and working to shape resolutions that are unique to each family’s situation. Ruth diligently protects clients’ rights in ways that do not perpetuate the destruction of divorce.
Practicing family law exclusively for nearly 20 years, Ruth is familiar with all areas including divorce (dissolution), legal separation, alimony/spousal maintenance, child custody, visitation and support, prenuptial and post-nuptial agreements, and modification of orders. Business executives or their spouses and individuals in mature marriages often call on Ruth to manage their divorces, as she is experienced in complex issues such as business valuation and long-term property settlements.
Clients appreciate the personal attention Ruth brings to their cases. Her step-by-step approach gives clients confidence that they can disentangle themselves from their marriages and move forward. Advocating for her clients’ best interests, Ruth helps them see through the difficult, emotional challenges of divorce to begin building a foundation for the next stage of their lives.
Ruth was instrumental to bringing collaborative law to Kentucky. She was President of the Academy of Northern Kentucky Collaborative Professionals from 2002 to 2008. A strong supporter of collaborative law and divorce mediation, Ruth believes that clients make their best decisions when they are acting on facts, not acting out of fear or threats.
A graduate with honors from Salmon P. Chase College of Law, Northern Kentucky University, Ruth is admitted to the Bar in Kentucky and Ohio. She has been a member of the Board of Directors for the Northern Kentucky Bar Association, and has chaired its Family Law Section.
Ruth has lived in the Northern Kentucky area with her family since 1988. An avid reader and basketball enthusiast, she most enjoys spending time with her family outside of her practice.Contact Ruth Services
